Ed Byers
Health Tech SME
Ed brings over 30 years of experience serving large healthcare clients with Deloitte across the country. He has been a frequent speaker at large conferences throughout the U.S. including presentations at the AICPA, ACFE, IIA, ISACA, and AHIA. Ed was also a faculty member at the University of Cincinnati, Butte College, and Chico State, and was an instructor at Deloitte University. As an enrolled member of the Enterprise Rancheria Maidu tribe in Northern California, and a member of the American Indian Chamber of Commerce in California and Arizona, Ed has extensive Indian country background and knowledge. Ed’s education background includes a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master’s in Business Administration.

Ty Faulkner

Ty is a national speaker and thought leader in health information technology fields. He's a college lecturer teaching courses in leadership, research careers, communications, and health technology at multiple colleges in Michigan and online across the US. Mr. Faulkner honorably served in the US Marine Corps, holds an undergraduate degree from Indiana University’s School of Public & Environmental Affairs, a graduate degree from Michigan State University in Communications & Advertising, and is a licensed Health IT Management Systems Consultant Advisor. Most recently, he has worked as an advisor to understand Silicon Valley's big tech companies operating models and transformative processes.

Carol Loftur-Thun

With 20 years of executing turnarounds, Carol provides nimble, pragmatic leadership to turn crises into opportunities and vision into results. As an interim and permanent CEO with 11 regional and international NGOs, she focused on ending healthcare inequities, domestic violence, sexual assault, mental illness, human trafficking, and suicide. Carol specializes in marketing, communications, and fundraising, and has raised over $31 million dollars to support NGOs. She is CPHIMS certified by HIMSS, ICF certified as a leadership coach, and certified by Virginia Supreme Court as a mediator, with advanced training in facilitation, negotiations, and trauma-informed practice. Carol has a BA from Davidson College, pursued her MBA at George Washington University, and is a dual masters degree candidate in Conflict Resolution and Mediterranean Security at George Mason University and University of Malta. Carol was born in Quito, Ecuador, lived in Lebanon, and studied in India under the Fulbright Program.

Arti Varanasi

Arti is passionate about leveraging tech to increase health equity and help people live longer, healthier lives. She has over 25 years of experience in public health, cancer research, project management, capacity-building and advocacy as CEO of Advancing Synergy LLC, as a National Cancer Institute fellow, and as a graduate of the National Science Foundation's program for women tech entrepreneurs. Arti has led the creation of multiple BioTech and Health IT courses while teaching at multiple institutions including Johns Hopkins University and UMBC. She served on the National Advisory Council on Nurse Education and Practice, and serves on numerous regional boards.

Danielle has over 10 years’ experience working within the healthcare industry including both private practice and hospital-based settings. She has experience in building medical practices from the ground up and in business solutions including marketing, streamlining processes, practice growth and operational strategies. Danielle is involved throughout the Maryland community, including serving as a Board Member of the Maryland Chapter of HIMSS and Chair of the Marketing and Communications Committee. Danielle holds a B.A. from Drury University and an M.S. from Boston University School of Medicine.

Robert is a technology leader with over 30 years of hands-on participation and leadership in all phases of healthcare information technology including cybersecurity, implementation and workforce development. He has developed health and human services information and management systems throughout the United States for State and Local organizations. For community health centers, Robert has provided regulatory compliance, cybersecurity and IT risk management support. Robert frequently speaks and writes on technology innovation, education and training, and diversity. He has a B.S from University of Maryland and a M.S. from Purdue University.
